Getting started with Gmail

Congratulations on your new Google Workspace / Gmail account! 

Here's what you need to know: 

Your account can take up to 2 days to become active
You'll need to wait for the change to go into effect across the Internet. This can take up to 48 hours but typically happens a lot faster.

You will receive an email from Google — RESPOND TO IT PROMPTLY
Expect an email from Google asking you to verify your account and choose a password. Please do that as soon as you receive the email because the link will expire after some time. You might want to keep an eye on your spam folder so you don't miss it.

How to access your email account
Once it's all set up, you'll be able to access your email in the future by visiting and logging in at: mail.google.com using your new email address. You will be able to send and receive emails with this email address.

What happens if you already have another Gmail account, such as a gmail.com email address
When people send you an email, it will go to that account. Those emails will be separate from your personal email account.

You will be able to conveniently switch between Gmail accounts by clicking the little icon in the upper-right-hand corner of your screen when you're logged into Gmail, as shown here.

How to get your email on your phone
You'll be able to set up this account to come to your phone just as you would any Gmail account. We can't answer questions about this more specifically because it really depends on what phone you're using. Your wireless service provider will be able to assist you if you need help with this.
