Can I get a QR code for my website?

2 mins read

Yes, you can make a QR code that directs mobile users right to your website for free! Here are two QR generating solutions we recommend:

1. QR Code Monkey

How to make a QR code:

  1. Visit: https://www.qrcode-monkey.com/
  2. Click: Enter Content
  3. Add the website URL you want your QR code to direct people to (many people use their website's homepage or contact page)
  4. Leave "Statistics & Eligibility" turned off (otherwise, you'll be redirected to another QR code software, where you'll have to pay a subscription fee)
  5. Click "Set Colors" if you want to use colors other than black and white
  6. If you want to use more than one color, click "Color Gradient" and choose two colors.
  7. You can also change the background color if you'd like
  8. If you want to add your logo to the middle of the QR code, click "Add Logo Image" and upload your logo or any image you'd like.
  9. If you want to change the look of the QR code design, click "Custom Design" and pick the look you want!
  10. Then, on the right, click the green button that says: "Create QR Code"
  11. If you want to change any of your choices, go back to the left side and tweak them.
  12. Once you've got it where you like it, click the blue button that says, "Download PNG"

You do not need to sign up for any software. You will simply have a downloaded .png file that you can email to a designer to place on a flier, business card, or sign.

2. Hovercode

How to make a QR code:

  1.  Visit: https://hovercode.com/
  2. Sign up and put in your credentials
  3. Where it says, "Create QR code" at the top, paste the website page you want to link
  4. If you want to enable scanning, tracking, and editing on this QR code option, you can. Click "dynamic" to enable it.
  5. Then, select a template.
  6. Pick a color, or paste a hex code in the open box
  7. Upload your logo if you'd like it in the center of the QR code
  8. You can also choose from more design options or frames
  9. You'll see your QR code on the right, and you can scan it on your phone to test that it works!
  10. Then click "Generate QR Code". It's a blue button at the bottom.
  11. To download it to your computer, click PNG.

For your reference, this is what Jottful's QR code looks like once we downloaded it:
