How can I make sales (add a store) on my Jottful website?

45 mins read

Jottful customers can make sales on their website by using software provided by other vendors. Here are some common examples we see:

If you want to accept donations or sell 1-2 products, we recommend:

Square's "buy now" button. When a visitor on your website wants to make a donation or purchase, they will click the button and be taken to Square's checkout. It also works for subscription products or recurring payments.

There is no charge for the button. You will just pay Square a percentage of the sales you make on your website — and most of this goes to the credit card processing companies.

To use this, you will need to set up a Square account, then get the embed code for the "buy now" button(s) from Square (instructions here) and email it to us at support@jottful.com. We'll add the code to your website and you'll be in business!

If you want to sell up to 5 products, we recommend:

An Ecwid eCommerce store. This is a complete store on your website. We will typically create a page called "Shop," "Store" or "Order" specifically for your store. With a store, website visitors can see a storefront like this:

When shoppers click on an item, they are taken to a product detail page that looks something like this:

To add an Ecwid store to your website, Jottful charges a one-page setup fee (see pricing here >). There is no charge for the store provided you have ten or fewer products and you don't need customization. Customer support is limited to reading Ecwid's Help Center articles (i.e., there is no one to call or email for help). You will just pay Ecwid a percentage of the sales you make on your website — and most of this goes to the credit-card processing companies.

To use this, you will need to set up a free Ecwid account, then email us your Store ID at support@jottful.com. We'll add the code to your website and you'll be in business!

The Store ID is displayed in your Ecwid Control Panel in the bottom left corner of every page of the control panel:

If you want to sell 6-100 products and you don't need help with the store set up:

In this case, we recommend Ecwid, as described above. The only difference is that you will need to choose a paid plan (free plans are only available if you're selling up to 5 products). You will also get access to their customer support team.
