If you are a Wix customer, you may be using them for:
- Domain hosting
- Website hosting
When you move to Jottful, you only need to update your website hosting, but you may also chose to change your domain hosting at the same time, if you like.
As a Jottful customer, we will provide your website hosting. Jottful does not, however, provide domain name registration or hosting at this time.
Here are instructions from Wix on how to update your web and/or domain hosting:
- Keep your domain with Wix but update your website hosting to Jottful
- Transfer your domain to another provider (if you choose this option, you will need to update your new provider to point your domain to Jottful after the domain transfer is complete)
If you still see your old website after we've notified you that your Jottful site has launched, there are two possible culprits:
- Your domain has not yet propagated on the internet. Depending on your domain registrar, it can take up to 48 hours for the internet to recognize that Jottful is now powering your website. In the interim, your old website will continue to show. So, just wait. If after 48 hours you still see your old site, you may need to clear your cache (see below).
- Your browser is caching your old site. What's a cache? Your browser saves, or "caches," copies of content you've visited so it can make web pages with that content load faster the next time you visit them. Your old website may be cached. It's possible to experience this problem on any of your devices, including desktop computers, laptops, tablets (such as iPads), and mobile phones. So, how do I solve the problem? Clicking your browser's refresh button (or hitting F5) won't do the trick; you need to clear your cache.
